J.R. Smith Welding Service, Inc. delivers in-field A.W.S. certified welding, line boring, facing, precision machining, and frozen pin removal services for all types of bulk material stevedoring machinery throughout the New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania seaports. We work with equipment manufacturers, dealerships, and port terminal maintenance departments to provide reliable, engineered repair solutions.

Our team has extensive experience with Sennebogen material handlers, including track frames, stick and boom repairs, boom foot pins, and boom lift hydraulic cylinder mounts. We also service clamshell buckets, magnets, and orange peel grapples.

We specialize in high-duty cycle repairs for stevedoring and mobile harbor crane wire rope sheave mounting pins and bushing bores, as well as restoring worn wheel loader center pins, bucket linkages, and hinge points. Our expertise extends to repairing and replacing hydraulic cylinder mounts and hinge points on off-road truck dump bodies.

In addition, we assist OEM dealers with certified welding installation projects, such as fitting cab risers on excavators used in waste material transfer stations and scrap metal loading operations.

Why Trust J.R. Smith with Your Machining?

Infield machining requires a unique blend of surgical precision and industrial strength. Since 1986, we have specialized in performing these high-tolerance repairs in unpredictable field conditions. By utilizing advanced boring bar systems and custom-engineered mounting setups, we ensure your bores are perfectly concentric and your surfaces are perfectly flat.
