J.R. Smith Welding Service has extensive experience in Ski Lift Bull Wheel line boring and reconditioning repairs to worn and damaged drive shaft bores and also worn bearing bores. We complete facing or re milling of machined surfaces, removal of broken bolts and also restoration of damaged threaded holes. We also have the capability to re machine or re size worn keyways on gearbox shafts, line drive shafts, electric motors, gasoline powered drive units, sheave bores and pumps, without removing the shaft from the gearbox.

We also provide third party inspected AWS certified structural welding repairs to all types of ski lift structures and structural fabrication of obsolete or unavailable parts.

Third party engineering services are available when OEM drawings or factory service procedures are no longer available for older generations of equipment. 

We have the experience needed to assist lift owners in diagnosing and correcting the causes of expensive bull wheel bearing failures and wheel wobble runout problems, brake drag and uneven brake wear issues commonly found on different styles of bull wheel configurations.
